The Government of Pakistan has greeted its people with a petrol bomb. It has raised the prices of patrol on the night of 31st December, 2011. The new prices get implemented with the start of new year. That directly effects the poor people of Pakistan which travel by means of public transport and motorcycles.
There were rumors that the government is closing all the CNG pumps in Pakistan for the month of January because of Shortage of Gas. The government is also suspending gas supply to homes and industries on frequent bases for quite some time. However there were protests from the public against the gas shortages in the end of december 2011.
The Government of Pakistan did not closed the CNG pumps for the month of January rather it raised the prices of patrol to divert attention of the general public from the issue for time being. This is a small new year gift from the government to the general public. By this gesture an estimation can be made regarding the coming surprises which the government will give to the public in the rest of 2012.
